Frank Michael Roman

September 23, 1948 — January 5, 2025

Frank Roman entered our physical earth in Norwich, Connecticut on September 23, 1948, the 3rd and last child gifted to Frieda Kubiak Roman & Frank Paul Roman.

As a young boy Frank spent much of his time with his parents and sisters fishing for sport and also spent significant time with his paternal grandparents on their farm in Connecticut. Frank’s family relocated from Connecticut to California in the year of 1955 when he was approximately 7 years old.

After arriving to a new life in California, Frank’s family ended up establishing and planting roots down in Huntington Park, CA where Frank and his siblings grew up.

As he grew up Frank served as an alter boy to his Parrish of Saint Gertrude Catholic Church in Bell Gardens adjacent to the city he resided in. In his teen years he attended and graduated from South Gate High School. Where he ran on the track team and won various awards.

As an adult, in his youthful years he lived at the beach at times, (Redondo and Huntington Beach as well as Laguna Hills), which he absolutely loved. During his time in these beach cities…, he spent a good amount of time creating bonds with his nieces Cherie & Antoinette and his nephew Frankie….Having sleepovers, hanging out at the beach, boogie boarding, and skating the pedestrian trails are most definitely events to be documented and reminisced upon.
Breaking rules, fun, love, understanding, concern & ultimately respect is what was received as a young adult & peers alike… around Frank. He was a safe and comfortable place to plant oneself. His love and positivity was a breath of fresh air to all that came into contact with his beautiful soul.

Frank attended Los Angeles City College to study business. And worked in freight and logistics related jobs and learned the trick of the trade. He successfully ventured into opening his own logistics company TS Express Logistics Inc in Rancho Cucamonga from years 2000 - 2013. During that period his nephew John Valva worked for him while earning his own business degree. John learned from the reigns of his uncle Frank and was able to open his own successful logistics company in 2013, Freight Pro Logistics LLC. Frank in turn went to work for his nephew John from 2015 until the time of his passing.

Frank battled an aggressive bout with bladder cancer in his 40s. He underwent extensive treatment with chemotherapy. At which time his loving partner Lloyd and Frank’s surviving family banded together to help Frank through his treatments and illness. Ultimately successfully beating the cancer.

With his renewal on life Frank enjoyed spending his time enjoying life’s small pleasures. He had a love for spending time in the desert, loved to work in the garden and taking his companion Lilly for walks in the community in which they lived. Frank also loved sports in general throughout his life. Beach volleyball, tennis, golf and dance to name a few. He enjoyed observing NFL and NBA games purely for the love of the game. He enjoyed attending LA Galaxy live games and was always in attendance at his nephew John’s soccer games front and center to cheer him on.

Frank was called home on the morning of January 5, 2025 surrounded by peace, love and the family that HE loved and loved him so dearly in life at the young age of 76. He spoke of the peace and beauty of Heaven , prior to his Homecoming, that he would experience upon arrival. We take peace in knowing that he was welcomed to the loving arms of our Lord and our families predecessors. Frank is survived by his partner Lloyd Thornton, sisters Sophie Valva & Halina Swift , his nieces Cherie Perez (Abe) & Antoinette Lewis ( Jimmy) nephews John Valva (Marian) Frank Fortnat and his beloved dog Lilly.
