Frank Moreno, Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday March 22, 2014 surrounded by his family. Frank was born in Los Angeles, California, White Memorial Hospital on August 6, 1946. He attended Hawaiian Elementary, Wilmington Junior High, graduating from Banning High School in 1964. He was associated with the Mahar House in Wilmington. He played in many sports. He was employed by Borax August 1964. After several months he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served 2 years in Vietnam. He returned to the U.S. in 1966. He received his Honorable Discharge January 14, 1971. Upon his return he was rehired by U.S. Borax. Frank met his wife September 1966 and they were married November 16, 1968. He registered for school at Harbor College and in 1971 he received his AA Degree. In 1982, he registered with ILWU Local 13, February 1, he received his Class B, and his Class A on March 1, 1984. He transferred to Local 63, June 22, 1996. Key qualified March 16, 2000. Frank is survived by his wife Frances, his sons, Frankie A. III (Ovita), Mickael K. (Jen), three grandchildren, Gabriel Frank Moreno, Alyssa Herminia Moreno and Sophia Isabella Moreno. Rosary will be held in the Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Park on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 6pm. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 3-8pm at Green Hills Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 31, 2014 at 10:30am at Mary Star of the Sea with interment to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park.
