Frank V Fernandez

On Monday, September 1st 2020, Frank V Fernandez passed away at age 92. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth Fernandez. He was born and raised in Wilmington, CA. Frank was married to Ruth Fernandez for 58 years. Together they raised four daughters; Alice Finkelstein, Nancy Arington, Carol Garcia, Carmen Fernandez. Frank was a workaholic. He worked construction for 25 years before retiring. After retiring he worked his dream job as a Longshoreman for 20 years. His Longshoreman number was lucky 5555 which he referred to as 4 nickels and used it as his license plate number. Frank and Ruth loved their bulldogs; Rufus, Winston, Andrew and their black lab Poncho which they cared for and loved while they were married. Frank loved to talk and always had a story to tell of his youth, being a Longshoreman or about his family. He loved his daughters and would always talk about them to whoever would listen. Frank is survived by his daughters: Alice Finkelstein, Nancy (Jerry) Arington, Carol (Ricky) Garcia and Carmen Fernandez; four grandchildren: Michael Chavez, Michele (Paul) Byrd, April (Samuel) Uriarte, Daniel (Melanie) Finkelstein, and David Garcia; and four great grandchildren: Lilyana Uriarte, Eli Byrd, Seth and Wesley Finkelstein. Frank will be missed very much. He is now with his parents and wife resting in peace. Funeral graveside services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 12:30
