Frank Michael Campis Jr, beloved husband, brother, father, grand-father, great grand-father and uncle passed away in his home in Torrance at the age of 77 on September 28. Frank was born in Detroit Michigan on April 27, 1941 to Frank and Frances Campis.
The Campis Family moved to Los Angeles, when Frank was 10 years old to find a climate, similar to that in Sicily. Frank graduated from George Washington High School in 1959. While in high school he found his passion in the Optical Industry. Starting in the mailroom and working his way up to a Manufacturers Sales Rep. Frank spent 55 years in the optical industry, where he was elected as “Salesman of the Year” multiple times and in 1999 he received the Goodfellow Award.
Frank connected eyes with Ann Marie Del Franco in 1958 while in Big Bear and they knew at that time they would be together forever and wed in 1960. They had their first son, Frank in 1961 and Tom three years later. In 1968, they moved to Torrance. You could always find Frank either coaching or watching his son’s sports and in later years at his grandchildren’s many activities. Frank and Ann enjoyed their friends and traveling with them to many places around the world.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his loving wife Ann, sons Frank (Maura) & Tom (Carole), grandchildren Michael (Kristy), Monica (Michael) Schuchard, Shannon & Tommy, great grandson Mekhi, brothers Salvatore & Joseph and many nieces & nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park at 11:30am on Friday, Oct 12. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Franks honor to the Michael J Fox Foundation,
