Frank Bore Botica, 88 passed away peacefully on July 17th.
Frank was born in Korcula, Croatia on October 2, 1923. He served in the Yugoslavian Army during World War II. After the war, Frank went to Auckland, New Zealand where he met his wife, Marija Botica. Frank came to San Pedro in 1958 and became a commercial fisherman. His wife and his children came later and they decided to settle in San Pedro. They were married in 1962. Frank worked many jobs in the Los Angeles Harbor such as; Catalina Cruises, Longshoreman and full time as a Tankerman before retiring in his 60's.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Marija, Frank is survived by their first son, John Botica, his wife, Diane Botica and their sons, Michael and Matthew Botica from Rancho Palos Verdes; the second son, Peter Botica, his wife, Vickie Botica and their children, Sydney and Noah Botica of San Pedro; their daughter, Katherine Botica of San Diego along with several relatives in New Zealand, Australia and Croatia.
Frank loved his family and enjoyed good food, wine and on his spare time enjoyed going to the races. He worked hard and enjoyed life to the fullest.
A private funeral service was held at Green Hills on August 3rd at 1:00pm.
