Frank Amorelli

March 9, 1930 — July 29, 2014

Born Frank Amorelli on March 9, 1930 in Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2014 in San Pedro, California. He moved to the Los Angeles area and met his true love, Joan, at Foshay Middle School in 1943. Together they attended Manual Arts High School. They married in 1948 on his birthday. He was an incredible father to his two daughters, Terry Lynn and Mary Ann, and a loving grandfather to Timmi Lynn. He was also blessed with two great grandsons, JB and Will, who he cherished dearly. He was fortunate enough to help raise three generations. Frank treated others as his own and was known as a grandfather to many!

Frank worked in the fire protection industry for over 40 years. He was truly a guys-guy and loved his job so much that if he could have afforded it he would have worked for free! Frank was an avid hunter in his early years. He loved betting and handicapping the ponies. Frank never met a stranger. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends – sharing his pearls of wisdom and a lifetime of stories. He lived life to the fullest and he was always laughing and smiling.

Frank was a lifetime member of the San Pedro Elks Lodge #966 and the National Automatic Sprinklers Union. Frank leaves behind a void in our hearts that can never be filled, but he leaves us with his zest for life, spunky spirit and the ability to live life to the fullest. In his last days, he assured us "I had a great ride!"

Frank is survived by his wife, daughters, and children, sister, son-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Frank's life will be held: Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11:30 AM, Cheesecake Factory Restaurant, 605 North Harbor Dr., Redondo Beach, 90277, 310-376-0466. Dress is casual with Hawaiian shirts preferred.
