Francisco Javier Aguilar, of Wilmington passed away at home on September 30, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Francisco Javier Aguilar, more commonly known as Javier was born on January 23,1944 in Zacatecas Mexico. He was one of thirteen siblings. In his early years he had a passion for a simple life in the rancho. Later on relocating to the southern California in 1969.
There is where in 1971, he met his wife Sara Torres. Francisco and Sara went on to have 3 children; Sara, Francisco Jr, and Judith. Francisco was a devoted husband and father. His incredible strength was only matched for his love of his family. Those that truly knew him got to see his fun loving sense of humor.
Francisco worked for 29 years for the I.L.W.U as a crane operator. He took pride in his job and being able to provide his children opportunities at a better life. He had a passion for all sports, particularly bowling. In his spare time he would compete in tournaments. After retirement he spent most days watching sports, gardening and spending time with family. As his kids grew and started their own families Francisco embraced his favorite role as Abuelo. Showering his grandsons with love and affection whenever he could.
Francisco is survived by his beautiful wife Sara Aguilar, 3 children; Sara (Mario) Figueroa, Francisco Jr (Sonia) Aguilar, Judith (Kevin) Walsh, 6 grandsons; Nicholas, Jakob, Steven, Aidan, Wyatt, and Patrick, 9 brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 4:30 pm. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 11:30. All services will take place in the Chapel at Green Hills Mortuary.
