Francis Leland "Lee" Zitko passed away July 25, 2016 in Henderson, NV. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on December 6, 1924, and was a resident of Henderson for 13 years. Lee's life work revolved around service to others. He served his country as a member of the USMC during World War II in the Pacific Theater, and the city of Los Angeles as a firefighter for the LA Fire Department from 1946 to 1968, and in Public Relations for the Port of Los Angeles from 1968 to 1988. Lee sought to help everyone he knew realize the value, full potential, and reasons for joy and laughter in life. He pursued this in many ways: In the Henderson community through his work as a volunteer literacy teacher, as a husband, father, and grandfather, and as a talented musician. He is survived by his wife, Susan Radcliffe; daughters, Laura and Maria; sons, Nick and James; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild. For Lee, love and happiness meant family, music, the ocean, and a bowl of ice cream; for his friends and family, love and happiness meant Lee. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, August 5, at 2pm at Green Hills Mortuary, in San Pedro, CA.
