Frances Dee Patrick Gray

Frances D. Gray was called to be with the Lord March 15, 2016 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca. Born January 8, 1940 in Winfield Louisiana to Ruth Gray and Samuel G. Farley. She attended Barton Hill Elementary School, Dana Jr. High and graduated from San Pedro High School in 1957. Obtained an Associate Degree in secretarial science from L.A. Harbor College. Employed by California DMV until 1969 when she left to pursue her love of the entertainment field.
She had a passion for dancing and acting at an early age. This passion continued to grow over the years and she became well-known in doing televisions commercials and has been seen in many movies and TV shows. Her professional name was "Dee Gray". The highlight of her career was working on the TV series "Without a Trace" for seven years. She recently was featured in a Sprint telephone Commercial shown nationwide for several months. Her latest movie credit was "The People Versus OJ Simpson – American Crime Story" series, where acted in a lead role as juror.
Frances is survived by her son Steven Culp of Michigan and her grandson, Robert. Her greatest joy was loving and taking great pride in her son and his accomplishments. She leaves to cherish her memory, two brothers Eddie Ray, John (Judy); two sisters Scherrie and Freda Payne; beloved fiancé Clifford Brown; nieces Cheryl Gray, Rachel Smith and Shoshana Payne Phillips; nephews Darrin, Joshua and Caleb Smith and Gregory Abbott Jr,; grand nephew Shaun Hicks; close cousins Henry Delton Williams and Anne W. Willis of Oakland Ca;. a host of relatives, friends and the Harbor Area Community.
Frances was a loving and thoughtful person, her smile was infectious, she adored and loved everyone she met. Her greatest joy was praising the Lord. No matter what she was going through, she would always say "God is good, all the time! He just keeps blessing me, God is so good!"
"I am at peace now. Don't worry about me; I'm doing just fine. I thank you for all you did to care for me, but I am in the best hands, God's Hands, and I have danced my way into His arms. I love you…" Frances
