Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on January 20, 2017, at the age of 92. Born in Los Angeles in 1925, Frances was the only child of Frank and Maria Trerotola. Frances attended Inglewood High School, and while in high school met her future husband, William (Bill) McDaniel. They married in 1945 and had three children: Stephen, Lawrence and Mary Frances. After WWII, Bill and Frances moved to San Pedro and Bill took a job with the Los Angeles Fire Department working on the Harbor Fire Boat. While raising her children in San Pedro, Frances was a dedicated homemaker with several interests. An active member of the Catholic community, she volunteered with Catholic organizations and attended Mass regularly. A talented artist, she filled her home with the beautiful paintings she created. Frances enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family. Her father, Frank, was a fashion designer whose career spanned over 30 years in the fashion industry. As a result of this influence, Frances had a love for fashion and prided herself on staying stylish – even into her nineties. She was a strong-spirited woman: fiercely loyal to those she loved, and immensely proud of her Italian heritage. Frances is survived by her sons Stephen McDaniel and Larry McDaniel (Claudia); daughter Mary Frances Salas; seven grandchildren: Timothy McDaniel (Lori), Michael McDaniel, Noelle Varner (Shawn), Danielle Bijelic (Jim), Philip Roupoli, Andrew McDaniel (Rachel), Gregory Salas; and 8 great-grandchildren. Frances was truly one-of-a-kind – she will be dearly missed. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in San Pedro on Friday, January 27, 2017.
