Frances Fernando

Frances Swarnamali Fernando, born on October 4th, 1952 in Sri Lanka, passed away this past Wednesday, July 17th, 2019 at the age of 66. She was the daughter to Ferdinand and Thelma Dalpadado and was the eldest sister to Anangalal Dalpadado.

Frances attended Our Lady of Victories High School in Moratuwa and graduated from the University of Colombo where she completed her BS and with Honors in Chemistry. She worked as a research and analytical chemist. She was married to Victor Ranjith Fernando for over 41 years where they had two children, Shalindra and Udeshmal. In 1990, the family emigrated to the US through the Visa lottery, where they resided in the South Bay ever since.

Frances was a devout church attendee, attended many prayer circles, and loved listening to gospel music. She enjoyed watching goofy TV shows, playing logic games like Sudoku, and spending time with family. She had a child-like appreciation for candy and deserts. Frances enjoyed the company of others and was adored by many due to her uplifting personality. Throughout her medical ailments, she always kept a positive outlook and light heart.

Friends and Family are invited to the Memorial Service viewing which will be held on 7/26/2019 from 4:30 PM - 8:30 PM (Eulogies Starting Promptly at 5:45pm with Prayers afterward) at Green Hills Mortuary, 27501 S Western Ave, Ranchos Palos Verdes, CA 90275. The Funeral Ceremony will be held on 7/27/2019 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 244 Prospect Ave, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254.
