Forrest "Pete" Moore

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Pete passed away peacefully at his home in Rancho Palos Verdes at the age of 95 on November 12, 2014. Pete was born on July 17, 1919 in Wyman, Arkansas. His family moved to Signal Hill in the early 1920s. He joined the Navy and fought in the Pacific campaign during World War II. When he returned home he married the love of his life, Ana Tomicich, in May, 1947. They were blessed with 3 children, Robert, Annette and Debra. Pete became a longshoreman and held many positions including being president of Local 13. He was also superintendent of the bulk loading terminal at outer harbor berths 49-50. He was preceded in death by his daughter Annette Brant. He is survived by his wife Ana, son Robert (Jan) Moore, daughter Debra (Bryan) Dalton, grandchildren Jason (Erica) Schwartz, Adam Schwartz, Amanda (Kris) Baird, Melissa Moore and great granddaughter Katelyn Schwartz. Services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 21, at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mary Star High School Building Fund and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Los Angeles Harbor.
