Florence Elizabeth Such

Florence Elizabeth Such went to be with the Lord, August 7, 2022 at the age of 88.

She was born on December 18, 1933 to Henry and Sadie Ward in Lone Pine, Pennsylvania. She spent her childhood years in Washington Pennsylvania along with her brothers George and John Ward and sister Dorothy Caffrey (Ed).

In 1962, with her Scottie dog for company, the country girl drove over 2,400 miles across the United States, to start a new life in Torrance, California. In February 1963, she would begin her career as a Torrance Police Matron where she would meet her future husband, Officer Robert Such. Florence would retire in 1971 in order to devote herself to Bob and their family. She is survived by her three children, Lisa Basile (Larry), Michael Such(Judy), and Patrick Such (Lisa) and her three step-children Bobbi Lynn Gander (Bob), Robyn Smith (Gavin), and Kristen Edmonds (Bill). In addition to her husband and children, Florence is survived by 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Green Hills Memorial Chapel followed by interment.
