February 15, 1933 - February 22, 2012
Florence Lindahl passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Her parents Antonio and Josephine Scifo immigrated from Palermo, Sicily, Italy in 1933. While the ship was anchored in Boston Harbor waiting to disembark, she was born. Florence had important responsibilities early in life; whether it was translating for her parents or working to help with the family income. She was raised in Boston and graduated from East Boston High School in 1950. In 1951 at a USO dance in Boston, she met and fell in love with her future husband Charles Lindahl. While raising 5 boys, she was very active in Little League, PTA, and the Catholic Church. Her great cooking, beautiful smile and always having family come first will be missed dearly. Florence is survived by her sons, Ken (Tracy), Roy (Kim), Casey (Trish), Don (Neali) and Carl; brother, Gus (Patti) Scifo; sister, Millie MacFarland; ten grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 56 years, Charles Lindahl. A private memorial and interment will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park.
