Felicidad M. Andres

Felicidad Medrano Andres passed April 24,2023, at the age of 96, in Carson, California, to be with her Lord and Savior. Born May 11,1926 to Mariano Medrano and Emerciana Nicolas in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was the youngest of 5 children. Her high school years were interrupted in 1941 when WW II came to the Philippine Islands. She worked waiting tables at a local restaurant to earn money for the family during the Japanese occupation.

Felicidad met Miguel Guillermo Andres and they married July 4,1946. Fely and Miguel built their own home in Quezon City where they raised their family and lived until immigrating to the United States in the early 1970's. Together they raised 9 children--3 sons and 6 daughters while enjoying 53 years of marriage. They prioritized education and each child attended and completed college.

Fely was a devout Catholic and was a member of Saint Philomena Church for many years. She had a passion for daily prayer and for the Love of God. Family was the most important thing to Fely and she was a tireless mother involving herself in all aspects of her children's lives. Felicidad was also an accomplished seamstress and made many of her own clothes, as well as those of her children. She loved Polynesian dancing, cooking and most of all, the love and company of family and friends.

Fely is survived by her children---Zeny Aquino (Donnie), Arthur Andres (Ellen), Ciony Goodman, Socorro Erickson (Vince), Mary Lusher (David), Percy Andres (Marianne), Mel Andres (Grace) and Anna Spuur (Andrew). Fely also has 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Miguel and her daughter Rowena Ruiz.

A viewing/visitation at Green Hills Memorial Chapel, Rancho Pales Verdes will be held June 2,2023 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. Refreshments will be provided. A funeral mass will be held the next day June 3,2023, 10:00am at St's.Peter & Paul Church, Wilmington, CA. A procession will follow with the internment taking place at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery.
