Evan Kirk Gillett

We lost our beautiful, wonderful Evan in a tragic hiking accident on February 15, 2020 in the Sequoia National Forest.

Evan was born at Torrance Memorial Hospital on September 23, 1997. He attended Towers Elementary, Bert Lynn Middle School, and West High School. He was currently a Senior at the University of California Irvine, due to graduate with honors on June 14, 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. After his summer internship with Northrop Grumman, he was already offered a full-time position, which he happily accepted and was excited to start in September.

Evan was an avid reader, dog lover, and music enthusiast. He had a passion for learning, photography, adventure, and the beauty of nature. He cherished his time with close friends and family.

Evan is survived by his parents Kirk and Bev; sisters Michelle (Chris) and Marissa; nephew Aiden; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The memorial service for Evan will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 11:30 a.m. at Green Hills Memorial Chapel with interment at Green Hills Cemetery.

Evan’s family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Humane Society, to support his love and care for animals.

God has Evan in his arms, but we have him in our hearts.
