Eva Garcia

Eva Garcia, 54, passed away after a 2.5-year battle with stage four colon cancer on March 21, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in her home in Long Beach, California. She was made a widow just 7 months prior to her husband, Gabriel Garcia, with whom she shared 29 years of marriage. Born in Villa Jimenez, Michoacán, Mexico, she was the ninth of ten children born to Miguel (d) and Modesta (d) Salgado. Eva was employed at Ralph’s for over 30 years and the last position she held was customer service manager. She is survived by her three children Larissa Marie Garcia Hernandez, Gabriel Garcia Jr., and Mario Roberto Garcia and her nine siblings Miguel Salgado, Maria Concepción Ambriz, Maria Elisa Salgado, Hector Salgado, Mario Roberto Salgado, Rafael Salgado, Francisco Salgado, Maria Estela Ochoa, and Esau Salgado.

Eva will be most remembered for her strong will, fierce independence, and charisma. Her sense of humor and laughter were beloved by all. Eva had a personality that demanded the attention of the entire room and her beauty radiated from the inside and out. She was a devoted Catholic, mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend who always put the needs of others before her own. Eva will be deeply missed.
