Eufrasia “Fassy” Bones was born March 13, 1937 in Las Mareas, Salinas, Puerto Rico. She was the 9th of 12 children born to Fernando Bones and Alejandrina Vasquez. She is proceeded in death by her parents and several of her siblings.
Fassy moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1955 where she met her future husband, and father of her children, Antonio Rivera. The two were married on November 12, 1960. She became an instant mother to 4-year old, Maria. Fassy then gave birth to Miriam, Edwin, and later Sandra. She and her husband also raised her niece, Myrna. The family later moved to California in 1965. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Everyone who knew Fassy, knew how resilient and strong she was. She loved God, her family, music, dancing, playing bingo, watching her novelas, and cooking, in addition to, loving and caring for those around her.
Fassy is survived by her family members, children: Maria Fulkerson (Don), Miriam Lewis, Edwin Rivera (Aurelia), Sandra Rivera, Nieces, Myrna Mendoza , Saidee Alvarez, Grandchildren: Sonia Rivera, Edwin Rivera Jr. (Mariela), Kevin Fulkerson, Alisha Lewis, Ryan Fulkerson, Kiana Lewis, Aaren Lewis, Great Grandchild: Alina Rivera, and numerous other family members.
She passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025 surrounded by family.
Although Fassy is no longer with us physically, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends and all who have been touched by her loving and beautiful spirit.
