Esther Salas Baca

Maria Esther S. Baca was born on July 2, 1926 in Durango, Mexico. The youngest of 14 siblings, she survived all of them, including her parents. She entered her eternal life on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 3:43 a.m. after complications due to a stroke she had the month before. She leaves behind three children and two grandchildren.

Esther married Antonio C. Baca in November 1953. They were married for 66 years prior to the passing of Antonio in August 2020. Around 1958, she followed her husband and his family to live in San Pedro, where she became a lifetime resident, and later, an American citizen.

Esther was a loving wife and mother dedicated to her small family. She was a kind spirit devoted to her church at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Esther didn't have time to volunteer because she was busy with three small children and loved to crochet blankets, sweaters, and throws. She is, and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
