Ercole “Eric” Ferrelli passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024 at the age of 90. At the time of his departure, Ercole was surrounded by his loving family at the home that he built in Torrance, CA. Ercole was the beloved husband of Ann Marie Ferrelli for over 63 years. He was a dearly loved father to both of his children, Joseph Ferrelli and Katherine Ferrelli. He was an adored Grandpa to Rebecca Ferrelli and Sofia Ferrelli. Ercole is survived by his sister Antonietta DiPompeo and brother Anthony Ferrelli. He is predeceased by his parents, Americo and Lucia Ferrelli (Prezza, Italy), and by his older brother Domenic Ferrelli.
Ercole immigrated to Thorold, Canada from Prezza, L’Aquila, Italy, before later getting married and relocating to California. While living in the U.S., he learned and mastered the trade of cement masonry and owned his own construction company, Ferrelli Construction, for several decades before he “retired,” in his 70’s. Ercole never really retired, as he was always a hard worker who was dedicated to his trade. He was always willing to help others whenever needed and continued to work and care for his family until the end.
Ercole took great pride in providing for his family, and ensured his legacy would live on for generations to come. He enjoyed working in his carefully crafted Italian garden and caring for his many fruit trees, his favorite being his figs. If Ercole was not in his garden you could find him working on his cars, spending time with his animals, or watching soccer- go Italia! You could always find Ercole on the dance floor at parties, he loved to celebrate with those he cared for.
Ercole’s greatest joy was spending time with his family around the dinner table with fresh dishes from his garden and a glass of his favorite red wine. We already miss the times we gathered together and will always keep his seat at the head of our family’s table to honor him. Even though he is no longer physically here, we take comfort knowing he will continue to watch over us.
We welcome those who knew him to join us in the celebration of his life at Green Hills Memorial Park on Wednesday May 15, 2024 at 12:30pm. Ercole’s memory lives on through each and every one of us through our experiences and our stories of him. Following the graveside ceremony, Ercole’s family invites you to his home to share these stories of his life while enjoying red wine and refreshments together.
