Emilio V. Acosta

Emilio V. Acosta, 83, passed away peacefully at home in Lakewood, CA on November 27, 2018. He was born in San Pedro, CA on June 8, 1935 to Leopoldo and Virginia Acosta (proceeded in death). He was 1 of 6 children, brothers: Paul, Leopoldo, Ernie (all proceeded in death). Survived by brother Rudolfo and sister Natalie Hahn. He married Marybelle (Darling) Acosta (proceeded in death) in 1954. He is survived by all of his 7 children. Sons: Frankie, Leo, Paul and Daughters: Debra, Cheryl, Virginia, Sharon. He had 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He retired in 2007 after 29 years of working as a Longshoreman. He was very proud of being a lifetime member of ILWU Local 13. The family would like to give a special Thank You to the staff of Kaiser Permanente Hospice in Downey, CA. Services will be held on Green Hills Memorial Chapel, 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. Visitation: Wednesday, Dec 5th @ 4:30pm-8:30pm. Funeral: Thursday, Dec. 6th @11:30am.
