With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, Eliza (Ely) Palacio Jacinto, 86, of Manhattan Beach, California, on June 10, 2025. Ely was a devoted mother to Michael, Lynette, and son-in-law Rod, and a loving grandmother to Jenna, Skyler, Matthew, and Eric. She will be remembered for her infectious smiles, kindness, and grace. We cherish memories of her Filipino cooking, shopping trips, and family holidays and vacations. Ely will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ely was born on November 16, 1938 in Solsona, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She was the 2nd child of 13 children. She attended high school at Paoay North Institute and received her Finance and Banking degree from Mapua University, Manila Philippines. She met and married the love of her life, her late husband, Eduardo (Bobot) Jacinto. Bobot and Ely, lived in Piddig, Ilocos Norte, Philippines where they raised their children, Lynette and Michael.
In 1981, the family excitedly emigrated to the United States, settling in San Jose California; along with Bobot’s parents and siblings. Bobot and Ely lived a simple lifestyle while raising their children. The family enjoyed endless family gatherings, full of music and mahjong games. Eliza lost her late husband to cancer in 1995. She lived with her son in San Jose until 2004 when she moved to Los Angeles to live with her daughter Lynette, her son in-law Rod and her granddaughters, Jenna and Skyler. Ely was happy and content living with her family. She enjoyed the beach, the concerts at the park, family holidays and vacations spent with her family. She was instrumental in raising both granddaughters.
She is no longer with us but her spirit and the memories of her will live on...
