The Carr and Debellis families are saddened to share the loss of sweet, loveable centenarian Eleanor A. Debellis (Carr) who made her voyage to the heavens on October 21, 2022. Born on January 18, 1922 in San Pedro, Eleanor was a 100 year resident of San Pedro, Ca, where she worked in the mortgage industry.
She enjoyed her life with several decades of marriage to Salvador Debellis, a fine wood craftsman, where together they laughed, decorated outrageously, made Orehnjača (the Croatian walnut roll), had large family dinners around the lazy susan table (that Uncle Sal built), the holiday hospitality table (snacks, breads, antipasta and such), where they made every minute of their day the most jovial.
Preceding her in departing this life are her Croatian parents Bernard II and Katherine Carr, also of San Pedro, and brothers Bernard III and Eugene.
Eleanor is survived by nieces Julia, Brenda, Valerie, and nephews Gregory and Bernard IV, plus cousins Joyce, Christi, Lynda, David, John, Frank, Steve, Andrea, Paulie, and so many more from both the Carr and Debellis families in the USA and Croatia.
Her family wishes to share that it is with happiness in our hearts that dear Eleanor, after 28 years apart, is united again with her beloved husband Sal. We are also confident that she is back doting on our Grandparents, looking after Uncle Gene’s car collection, and discussing fix-it jobs with Uncle Ben.
Celebration of life services will be held at the Cloisters on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 12:30 PM at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, USA.
