Einar Erik Larson

Einar Erik Larson, age 87, passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 19, 2016. Einar was born May 7, 1929 in Lomita, California. He is preceded in death by his parents, Erik and Karin Larson, his sister Emma, his nephew Barry and his grandchildren Randy and Lacey. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, daughter Janean and son-in-law Ralph, daughter Linda, grandchildren: Amy, Nick and wife Jessica, Naomi and husband Steve, Katie; and great grandchildren Lavender, Ava, Monet, Annika, Angel and Joe. Einar is also survived by stepdaughters Sandy and husband Steve, Kendra and husband Jim, Barbara and husband Mike, and grandchildren Jenny, Steph, Brad, Jon, Kent and Katie, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews locally and in Sweden. Einar graduated from Narbonne High School in 1947. After graduation he served in the Air Force in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He returned to Southern California to raise his family and began his 35 plus year career as manager of Smart and Final in Redondo Beach. Additionally he was a long time member of the Redondo Beach Elks Lodge. He was very well known for being an avid golfer. He was a long time member of the Naughty Nine Golf Club and the Los Verdes Seniors Club. When he was 73, he celebrated 'the shot of a lifetime' with a double eagle hole-in-one at Los Verdes Golf & Country Club on hole #11 (par 4 / 292 yards). Along with golfing, he enjoyed creating and sharing memories with his large Swedish family and many life-long friends. He will be greatly missed by the many friends and family members. A viewing will be held at Green Hills Mortuary on Friday, November 25th from 3 to 8pm. A Celebration of Life will be held for his family and many friends after the first of 2017.
