Eddie was a beautiful baby boy, that would get smiles out of all ages who saw him. Eddie attended Holy Trinity and then Mary Star High School. He was very athletic and played baseball for Eastview, hitting the first grand-slam at the new field on Knoll Hill. Eddie was athletically inclined from a young age. He played basketball for Bogdonivich where he was a point-guard, and soccer for both San Pedro Palos Verdes AYSO. Eventually he has to choose which sport he would dedicate himself to, and chose soccer. He played forward since he started at 4 years old.. His favorite play to show off his undeniable talent was stumping the crown with his hat tricks. Like most athletes, Eddie was very superstitious, which shone through with the collection of cleats he had. If the team was losing Eddie would change his cleats out during half time, believing that changing his cleats would change the teams luck.
He played hard, showed off harder and took pride in both. That continued into his adult years. In his early adolescence he started surfing at Royal Palms in San Pedro and enjoyed that so much The Locals became part of his extended family. This athletic kid became an adult getting his first job with AMPAM. He enjoyed learning the trade of commercial plumbing. He helped build large condo complexes in San Pedro and Marina Del Ray. Eddie worked for AMPAM 8/‘17 to his passing.
His other joy was his passion for cars, he would drive around and like to take pictures with his cars. In the evening you would find him with the guys watching the sunset talking about their cars. Eddie had a joyful, loving and respectful soul these traits are what allowed him to connect with everyone. Eddie Vasquez created strong and meaningful connection the short time he blessed us with his presence his bright light, his jokes, and his laugh will never be forgotten and he will be genuinely missed.
