Dorothy Marie (Dottie) Lintner, 1927-2015

Dottie was a resident of Long Beach since 1954. She was a graduate of San Pedro High School, Baker Business School of New York City, Patricia Stevens Modeling School, Hollywood, Saddleback Community College, Irvine and Long Beach State University.
She worked for the Long Beach Main Library in secretarial/office duties and was later employed at the Long Beach Museum of Art where she performed secretarial/accounting duties before retirement in 1981.
Dottie was the loving wife of Stanley W.Lintner of Long Beach They were married for 64 years and nine months. She was also the devoted mother of three daughters and a son Stanley W. Jr., (now deceased). Dottie was an inspirational figure to her family, setting high standards for accomplishment and personal conduct and exemplifying those standards in her own life. Dottie was deeply loved by her family. She was a true Christian and raised her children in the Protestant tradition.
She leaves behind her husband Stanley, daughters Janet Purvis of Mendenhall, MS. Carolyn Lintner, M.D and Joanne Morrison RN of Long Beach, She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
As a teen, Dottie was a witness to the Japanese attack of 7 December, 1941 on Pearl Harbor where she was living with her parents. Her father, a Navy man, was stationed aboard the repair ship U.S.S. Argonne. She carried the trauma of those sights and sounds with her for the rest of her life.
