Dorothy S. Karolak

Surrounded by family and friends, Dorothy Sue Karolak passed quietly from this life on Tuesday morning, July 19 at the age of 94.

Born Dorothy Sue Green on September 19, 1921 to Walter and Mary Frances Green in San Angelo Texas, she was the youngest of 6 children. In her younger years she lived inTexas and Montana, eventually arriving in Los Angeles where she met and married Leo Karolak. In 1954 they settledin Torrance where they raised 4 children and where Sue continued to live for the last 62 years of her life.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Mary Frances; five siblings Paul, Roy, Walter, Addie, & Jimmie; her husband, Leo; son, Jim; and an infant daughter. She is survived by daughters Anita Daley, Carol Karolak, & Kristin Smith; son-in-Law Bill Daley; grandchildren Jim Karolak& wife Allison, Angela Moffitt & husband Brian, Matthew Karolak; and great-grandchildren Madison, Olivia, Jimmy, Owen, & Nora.

A Celebration of Life memorial will be held at noon on Saturday, July 30, at Saint Lawrence Martyr Church, 1940 S. Prospect Avenue, Redondo Beach. Burial will take place at a private graveside service prior to the memorial. Family and friends are welcome at the July 30th memorial and luncheon.
