Dorothy Grandmaison, born in Lewiston, Maine on August 28, 1940, beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, and friend went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013. She left us comfortably at home in bed surrounded by family, after a lifelong battle with Multiple Sclerosis, of which she was diagnosed with in 1964. In 1961, she married Normand Grandmaison in Lewiston, Maine, and shortly after moved to California where they started their new life raising two sons, Gary and Steve.
Dorothy nurtured her family with a loving and watchful eye, maintaining a safe, secure, and happy home. She possessed an open and trusting heart, and loved being of faith and praying daily to our Lord. She could brighten anyone's day with her genuine smile and heartfelt greeting. During her illness, she remained very loving and pleasant not letting her condition bring down her spirits or spirits of those around her. She always had a smile that could light up a room and blue eyes that were comforting and utterly unforgettable. She was a loving partner, Mother, caregiver, role model, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal Peace.
Dorothy worked at Wilmington Jr. High School for 15 years from 1975 until she retired in 1990 due to continuing problems with M/S. She became totally disabled in 2002 after several continuing medical issues.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Norm R. Grandmaison, who has loved and cared for her unconditionally, two sons Gary and Steve, daughter-in-law Anna, two grandchildren, Kelly and Frenchesca, and sister Viviane Goulet who will always love, miss, and cherish her in memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents Armand and Delia Beacauge, and two brothers Rene and Roger.
