Doris L. Kushner

Born Sumter, South Carolina Oct. 15, 1920 to James Carroll McEarchern and Mary Emma Crawford McEarchern. She was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and Mobile Alabama. She married Fredrick Kushner in Biloxi MS June 26, 1942. They had three children: Kitty Edler, Ken Kushner (wife Bebe) and Roxi Moore. Lived in New Orleans, LA and Chicago IL and Sheldon, Iowa. She moved to Laguna Woods, California in 1991 where she lived until 2010 when she moved to Mission Viejo. She had 5 grandchildren: Rick Edler (Dee), Erika Moore (Kathy), Kenny Kushner (Bethanee) Danielle Kushner, Charles Moore
She had 8 great grandchildren: Mikayla, Gracie, Charlotte, Sofie, Mark, Gage, Luca and Presley. Close nieces and nephews: Michael Allen, Benita Allen, Rick Allen, Joe McEarchern, April Shiver, Linda McCullough, Mary Wood, Nick Allen, Chelsea Allen, Morgan Allen and Charlotte Allen and a longtime chare giver and friend, Carlos Pena. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Frederick Kushner, 5 siblings, sister in-law Emmy Altbach, niece Nita Allen, her grandson Mark Edler, her son in law Rich Edler.
Doris was described as one of the sweetest, most thoughtful and caring persons they ever knew. She was an active volunteer (at Saddleback Hospital for more than 18 years) an avid bridge player, reader, and PEO member for 43 years. She is famous for her rum cakes and cookies.
