It is with heavy hearts that we announce Donnis M. Lantz (Ballinger) passed away at home in
Rancho Palos Verdes on February 13, 2023. Born 86 years ago in Indiana on July 6, she was a
big sister to three siblings. Donnie graduated from Rochester High School and proudly attended
Purdue University where she earned a degree in Pharmacy and met her future husband
Norman F. Lantz. Together they raised three children moving around the country before landing
in RPV where she remained for 50 years. Devoted to her family and church, First Baptist
Church of Palos Verdes, she loved to spend her time cooking, reading, playing Bridge and
hosting luncheons & church events. An accomplished pharmacist, she worked at Torrance
Memorial Medical Center for 25 years before retiring to enjoy her 11 grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur Ballinger (Bea) & Erma Martin (Bob), siblings
Sherri Evans (Glen) & James Ballinger, and cherished companion Joe Budro.
Left to treasure her incredible life and memory are her sister Bev Tolley (Phil); Children:
Katherine Giglio (Gigs), Debbie Bachman (Hank), Norm Lantz (Debbie); Grandchildren: Richard
(Vanessa), Philip (TK), Tori (Clayton), Christian (Lauren), Quinn, Jacob (Gio), Natasha, Jasper;
great-grandchildren: Ariana, Richard Jr, Arthur as well as several nieces and nephews.
Join us in the celebration of her life, March 4, 2023, 2:30pm at First Baptist Church of Palos
Verdes, 28 Moccasin Lane, Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274. Reception immediately following.
