Donna, (83), the daughter of Theodore and Gwendolyn Shea was born February 7, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away in her home on September 5, 2012 in Carson, California after succumbing to several chronic illnesses. She was preceded in death by Marvin "Red" Beyrodt, her husband of 47 years and the love of her life. Donna loved to dance, and as a child studied ballet and belonged to the Chicago Conservatory. She met her husband at a church dance and was married on June 16, 1951. Moving to El Paso, Texas in 1951 they started a family before moving to what is now Carson, CA in 1957. She was a wonderful wife and mother, devoted to her family and friends. Donna was active in PTA, Girl Scouts, Little League, and church, Carson Boosters Club, YMCA and Square Dancing Club's. She had a love for painting with oils and watercolors. Donna worked as a noon-aide and teacher's assistant at Caroldale Avenue Elementary School and Stephen White Middle School. She was known as Mrs. B by the young kids at the schools. She was known for riding her bicycle to and from the schools and anywhere locally that she needed to go. She retired after 32 years with the Los Angeles City School District. Donna did volunteer work at Harbor General Hospital and also volunteered to do fingerprinting with the Carson Sheriff's Department. She started the first Neighborhood Watch Group in her neighborhood. Donna is survived by her two devoted children, Chrisann and Thomas Beyrodt. Her brother David Shea (Maryanne), sister Geraldine Stripling, grandchildren Julie, Nevin, Cord and Cody. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Jaclynn, Jared, Nevin and Rain, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Donna is also survived by her loving and caring caregiver, Anabelle Guzman. The Memorial Service for Ms. Donna Beyrodt will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13th at the interment site in Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes. Visitation will be the same day before the interment from 10:00 – 1:30 p.m. at Green Hills Mortuary.
