Dominga Acena Bigornia

August 15, 1932 — July 22, 2020

The youngest of 8 children, Dominga Acena Bigomia was born August 15, 1932 in Bangued, Abra Philippines from Felix and Sophia Acena.She passed away peacefully at Kittridge Elder Care Wednesday, Jusy 22 in Woodland Hills, California.

With support and encouragement from her family, Dominga went off to University and finished dental school. With a medical degree in dentistry she returned to the province to start her dental practice. At the same time reuniting with childhood families and friends like the Bigornia family. She married her best friend, Alfredo Bigornia in 1962. She births 6 children in the Philippines; in 1972 with heavy hearts and the declaration of martial law; a decision was made to immigrate in the United States; leaving the homeland for a better future for their children; she relocated to San Diego, CA and eventually moved to Los Angeles, CA; for more job opportunities; with hard determination and perseverance, she worked tirelessly until her husband and children joined her in 1973-1974; her six kids were raised and lived in Wilmington, CA; then later with God's blessing, manage to purchase a family house in Gardena, CA; when she passed the California State Dental Board Exam; receive her Dental practice license; she opened a Dental Clinic in Carson, CA; she was a religious lady, involved in the community of Catholic faith; she instilled to all her children a daily rosary prayer and her love of books and music; She was preceded in death by her 7 siblings and husband, Alfredo. She is survived by their 6 children. Abraham "Ham"(Corazon) Bigomia, "Lima" Rose(Joy) Bigornia, Atanacio "Tani" (Zhar) Bigornia, Carol (Dan) Evans, Wendy (Mario) Zaldivar, Paul "Melody" (Mailon) Bigornia. Grandchildren: Ace Michael, Julia, Owen, Noel, Tristan, Tiana, Lauren, Danielle and Marielle.

She was an amazing, beautiful woman who loved her family. She was a devoted friend and mother.
