Dolores J. Smith

Rancho Palos Verdes, CA – Born June 6, 1932, Dolores Jane Smith, 84, died Monday, May 22, 2017 at Terra Verde Living in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA following a long illness. She leaves the following loving family; her surviving daughters; Christine Callahan, Susan Hoffman, Dorothea Nemecek, Lillian O'Hara, and is meeting her beloved deceased daughter Michelle Lee Amalfitano in heaven. In addition, she is survived by George R. Guzman, her sibling, and she also leaves her beloved surviving 11 grandchildren, Nichole Hoffman, Autumn Hoffman, Shannon Hoffman-Hall, Mario Amalfitano, Shauna O'Hara, Anthony Amalfitano, Callahan Lucido, Christy O'Hara, and Sarah Thompson. Dee is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, and many friends.

Born and raised in Lynn, Mass, the daughter of Hector and Lillian Guzman, she was a longtime resident of the South Bay area of Southern California, as well as the Yucca Valley/Palm Springs area of CA in her later years.

Dee enjoyed singing on the radio in the 1940's, and always had a heart for music, especially Frank Sinatra and Jazz. Dee was an avid golfer, and enjoyed traveling. She will be remembered for her loving and persistent spirit. Dee worked tirelessly in different industries for her family, and later enjoyed the benefits of all of that hard work with her loving family, especially all of the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were a source of joy for her. A Service will be held for her at the Historic Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Park on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:00am, located at 27501 S. Western Av, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275
