With deep sadness, we announced the passing of Dolores (Lita) Figueroa born November 11, 1939. She passed September 21, 2024 at the age of 84. She graduated from San Pedro High School and was a lifelong resident of San Pedro. She was proceeded in death by her parents Evaristo and Mary Herrera, her brothers, Risto, Frank, Tommy, Paul, John and Andrew Herrera and her husband Roy and son David Figueroa. Dolores leaves behind five children Stephanie Ahumada, Lorraine, Roylene, Greg (Yami) and Vince Figueroa. In addition to her children, she leaves behind 13 grandkids and 17 great grandkids.
She loved to sew, crochet, bake, cook, and arts and crafts. In addition, she loved playing her candy crush game, which she had a high-level and was very proud of and eating her popcorn. Dolores was a proud hairstylist and worked alongside her brother at Guillermo’s salon in San Pedro. She also worked for her brother at Knudson Herrera distributing.
We all enjoyed listening to her stories of her childhood and all her travel adventures, that will be greatly missed.
She was a sports mom and dance. Her favorite teams were the Dodgers and UCLA. She also enjoyed watching golf.
Her greatest joy were her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved her family unconditionally. She will deeply be missed by her family and friends.
