Denise Elaine Tucker passed away Sunday September 29, 2019. She was 61 years young. She was born to Betty Jo Booker and Vernon Argusta in Phoenix, AZ on Friday November 29, 1957. As the second oldest of 6 children, she traveled the world as a military brat thanks to her Stepfather Willie Scott, Jr.
She graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto, CA. She met her future husband Milton Tucker at Norton AFB and in 1982 they were married. It was through her marriage that she would come to settle in her final resting place of San Pedro, CA. While living in the Los Angeles area she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from National University. She applied her technical skills as a computer programmer to develop and implement solutions to complex problems supporting the Defense Industry and the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department and Toyota.
In 2001 she found her calling and opened her first women’s boutique, Shooz Etc. in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. She would later go on to open 3 more stores throughout Los Angeles. She had a keen eye for fashion and loved to adorn her customers, who have now become friends if not family, for the latest events. She was always willing to help the next person in need and often gave the last of whatever she had to make sure they were not without. Money, shoes, clothes, cars, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, she was there, and you could always turn to her for comfort.
Aside from her caregiving nature, Denise was super competitive. She earned her Black belt in Taekwondo, played in adult softball leagues and loved bowling in her younger years. She loved reading, aliens, conspiracy theories, Black Art and of course BINGO!!
She will be remembered for her entrepreneurial spirit, her kind heart and her love for her family.
Denise is preceded in death by her mother Betty Jo Scott, her father Vernon Argusta, stepfather Willie Scott Jr. and her big brother Dwight Scott.
She leaves a legacy of love and laughter in her daughter Tiffany Moreno (Raymond) of San Pedro, her son Alexander Tucker of Torrance and her Granddaughters Roxy, Demi and Khari Moreno, two sisters Lisa Moore of San Diego and Lorri Scott of San Bernardino and two brothers Lyndell Scott of Barstow and Lawrence Scott of San Bernardino followed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
