Deborah "Debbie" Lee Ison Ketcham passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 17, 2022 in her home. She was born in Long Beach CA February 25, 1950, daughter of Garney Lee and Fern Ison. She is preceded in death by her husband Dale Ketcham. Her loss of Dale broke her heart into pieces.
Deborah worked in banking and retired as loan secretary from Home Bank. Retirement allowed Debbie to spend many hours on the golf course with Dale and on the boat as they made frequent weekend trips to Catalina.
Deb had many interests throughout her life and learned about each one thoroughly before she focused on another. She grew roses, sewed her own clothes and crafted. Anything she set her mind to she achieved.
Deb loved all animals. She successfully showed Malamutes and achieved several wins in the ring. She was involved in the Opossum Society and rescued many. Deb was an avid birder and shared her enthusiasm to inspire others into the birding world.
Deborah's calling was to help cats. She volunteered at the Seal Beach Animal Care Center for many years fostering, rescuing and helping them heal. In recent years she was very involved with and a supporter of the Westminster Adoption Group and Services - WAGS.
Deb was funny, generous, had loving heart and was one of a kind. Her presence will be missed.
Deborah is survived by her sister Julia (Matt) Francis, stepsons Christopher (Wendy) Ketcham and Rodney (Katherine) Ketcham. Deborah leaves behind grandsons Ryan, Lucas, Duke and Bobby and her granddaughter Summer.
A small graveside service was overseen by a large hawk on September 23 at Green Hills Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life October 22nd in Seal Beach CA.
