David Carleton Saari

David Carleton Saari, Dave, passed into eternity on February 19, 2013. He was just 55. He was living in Carson, California. Dave was born in Long Beach, CA, on October 24, 1957. He was the third child of Evert and Lou Emma Saari. As he grew up in Lakewood, CA, he attended Bethany Lutheran Church and School, Lakewood High School, and Long Beach City Technical College. He received his Journeyman Plumber, Welder, and Pipefitters licenses and was employed with Plumbers Local Union 494 for 30 years. David was accomplished in his field. He was married to Nancy Zwolle (predeceased in 2010). David leaves behind their son, Brandon David, living in Marion, Ohio, his sisters Alicia Smalley (Kimbell), and Valerie Thompson (Philip). Cousins Chris Keller, John Lundi, and Liz Grider. Nieces and nephews, Jessica Smalley, Jonathan Smalley, Kelly Kenney, Liisa Ferguson, Nicole Smalley, and Lynelle Thompson with grandnieces and grandnephews. He also leaves behind his girlfriend of seven years, Vina Crocker of Carson, California. David's beauty, charm, confidence, optimism, and humor made him well loved. His struggles made us love him more. A service will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:00 am, Westside Christian Church 1594 W. Willow, Long Beach, CA. A memorial fund has been established in David's honor by Local 494 for his son Brandon. 2740 E. Spring Street, Long Beach 90806.
