Darlene File

Elva “Darlene” File went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 23, 2018. Darlene was born to Glenn & Elsie Underwood in Creston, Iowa on November 12,1928.

Darlene’s family moved from the Midwest to the harbor area and settled in San Pedro. She attended San Pedro High School graduating in the class of 1947. She loved arts & crafts, floral design, playing Rummikub and most of all she loved dogs. She worked for over 20 years at Long Beach Community Hospital. Darlene attended Bayview Baptist Church.
Darlene was preceded in death by her mother, father and sister Donna (Andy) Yamada. She is survived by sisters Dolores Miller and Lorraine (John) Wolbers, son John (Carol) File, daughter Diane(Jim) Holland, grandchildren Jimmy (Tiffany) Holland, Nicolette File, Michael (Stephanie) Holland & Spencer File. Darlene had 7 great grandchildren Grace, Katelynne, Hannah, Elijah, Emma, Wyatt & Levi.

Our family would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful care given Darlene by the sisters at Little Sisters of the Poor and to her very good friend and neighbor Jack Holt.
