Darlene Berneice Dowd

Darlene Berneice Dowd, 88, passed away on September 25th, 2015 in Garden Grove CA. She was born on December 28th, 1926 in Kettle Falls, WA, the daughter of Ralph Ashton and Mary Lucille Lawson.
Darlene met and married the love of her life, Perry Douglas Dowd II in Seattle WA in May, 1944; and then, settled in Long Beach, CA to begin a family. After many years as a fulltime wife and mother, she returned to school to complete her education, and went on to have a professional career in medical administration for over 30 years.
In 1974, she and Perry moved to Lake Forest, CA. They retired and went on to enjoy many years of traveling and their ever expanding family. She also enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, sewing, cake decorating, and gardening.
She is survived by her three children, Catherine Johnston, Ken (Kathy) Dowd, and Peggy Oloumi; and four grandchildren, Jennifer (Steven) Rue, Merianne (Eric) Cleaver, Lori (Matt) Lundin, and Sean (Gina) Cronkite, and ten great grandchildren. Darlene is also survived by her brother, Victor (Mary) Lawson. She and Perry had a forth child, Perry Douglas Dowd III, who passed away in 1979.
