Dario Villaroman Batungbakal passed away on Saturday morning of March 1, 2025, surrounded by family at his side. He was born on February 4, 1944 in Bulacan, Philippines, and was the son of the late Maximo Batungbakal and Trinidad Villaroman Batungbakal. Dario was a graduate of the Mapua Institute of Technology in Manila, Philippines, and received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree. After passing the Philippine’s Board of Mechanical Engineering Licensure Exam, he worked with the Republic Cement Corporation until his decision to move the United States to provide his children with better opportunities. Through God’s grace, Dario secured employment with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and retired comfortably. His decisions always revolved around his family.
He is survived by his wife Bella Nunez Batungbakal, his sons Alexander Batungbakal and Dario Batungbakal Jr., his daughters Airess Batungbakal and Aireen Batungbakal, his grandchildren Eloise Batungbakal and Lincoln Batungbakal, his sister Nelia Batungbakal, his nieces and nephews, his cousins, and his extended family.
His primary happiness in life was his family and faith in God, giving both his utmost devotion and time. He also enjoyed gardening, music, building, fixing machinery, and reading or listening to global news. He is remembered by his bright smile, joyful laughter, sound wisdom and keen insight, strong and calm voice, loving presence, and his steady, unconditional love. He was the best example to those who were able to see and bask in his light.
Flowers may be sent to Green Hills Memorial Park at Rancho Palos Verdes, California where his funeral service and burial will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
