Daniel L. Nay
August 19, 1934 - May 27, 2015
Loved Husband, Father, Engineer & Entrepreneur
He loved anything that sparked the imagination from early crystal tube radio onto comic books, movies and television.
"I did not need pictures because I supplied them from my own vivid imagination."
"The fiction helped direct me towards a life in Electronics, where I could try to invent some of those marvelous things which were not yet a reality."
Daniel went to Standford University and received a Bachelor & Masters in Electrical Engineering. He was affiliated in organizations such as Mensa, the NRA, Republican Party, & Tau Beta Pi.
Througout his career he was part of the technology race, he designed one of the first portable computers, Findex.
"The problem with Findex was that it was too far ahead of its time. Affordable, lightweight, portable computers would have to wait for technology to catch up with Dan Nay's vision."
-Ed gore, former employee.
He was a trailblazing individual, inventor, programmer, and eclectic personality.
If he saw a wounded dog on the road he would take them to vets, and pay for their care.
He was an avid gun enthusiast & collector who enjoyed skiing, Nascar, speedway, and demolition derby's.
He took his family on yearly ski trips and vacations all over the United States traveling by motorhome or plane, Hawaii, St. Croix, Europe, Israel, Eygpt, Alaska, and the list goes on.
He was deeply caring, compassionate, enthusiastic, loyal, supportive and most of all generous beyond comparison.
Noteworthy is that the things he loved did not get in the way of doing the things he felt honor bound to do. Such as taking care of his mother after his father died, and kind deeds for too many relatives to list, along the way. He did countless charitable things for family & friends alike.
Though he didn't talk much, he let his actions speak for themselves, louder than words, and he will be deeply missed.
