Daniel Lowell Bales, Sr. passed away on September 22, 2017 at the age of 64, after a nine month battle with kidney cancer. He was born in Oklahoma City on June 26, 1953. He moved with his family to Palos Verdes Estates in 1962. He attended Lunada Bay Elementary, Margate Intermediate School and was a graduate of Palos Verdes High School in 1972. Dan was a great golfer, an expert in his professional career in insurance claims and headed the Special Investigative Unit for Mercury Insurance. Dan was predeceased by his mother, Billie Ruth Bales. He is survived by his wife, Christy Bales, his son Daniel L. Bales, Jr. (Rayna), his daughter Ruth Anne Bales, his granddaughter, Hailey, his father Dennis L. Bales Jr., his brother Dennis L. Bales III (Judy) and his sister Diana L. Pfeil (Mark). A graveside committal service is scheduled for October 5, 2017 at noon at Green Hills Memorial Park. A Memorial Service to follow at Catalina View Gardens at 1:00 6001 Palos Verdes Drive South RPV.
