Danella was born to Henry and Kattie Jones on November 7, 1940, in Meridian, Mississippi where she attended and graduated from Saint Joseph’s High School in 1958. After graduation, she moved to Burkeville, Virginia, and subsequently to Youngstown, Ohio, where she lived with her first husband.

In the mid-1970s, Danella moved to Los Angeles where she worked as a Lab Technician for Lockheed Aircraft Manufacturing and studied nursing at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. Danella continued her nursing career until she retired. In 2003, she married Obbie Lee Davis in a Las Vegas ceremony attended by family and friends.

Danella was best described as a devoted wife and beautiful woman of God. She loved her husband, extended family, serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in and outside of her home church, Crenshaw Christian Center, and fellowshipping with family, neighbors and coworkers. She also loved to travel having visited Israel, Sicily, Italy, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Bahamas.

After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, Danella spent her remaining years living with Obbie, her primary caregiver, in their apartment on 19th Street in San Pedro, before relocating to Ardent Care Assisted Living in Anaheim in May 2022, and then to The Cottage At Artesia Gardens in Buena Park in October. During the second week of December, 2022, Danella fell ill and was transported to Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Anaheim, California, where she was visited by Obbie and family before passing away in the early morning of December 15th.

Danella is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Kattie Jones, brother Henry Jones, sister Irene Jones Montgomery, and stepdaughter Lorri V. Davis. To cherish her love and memories, she leaves her husband of 19 years, Obbie Lee Davis, stepson Kelvin Davis, his wife Jennifer, and grandsons Philip Micah Davis, Matthew Davis, Andrew Davis and Hosea Davis, and his wife Kathy. She also leaves niece Angela Williams (daughter of her sister), grandniece Miranda Cook, grandnephew Corey Williams, great grandniece Malaylah Cook, and great, great grandniece Makieyah Cook, all of Richmond, Virginia, plus other extended family and many, many friends, including fellow parishioners at.

Danella was a kind, intelligent, and passionate Christian woman who will be greatly missed by her husband, family and friends. Per her expressed desire, she is being laid to rest in Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, until her Savior raises her body on that faithful day.
