Craig Richard Waters, 74, of Van Nuy, California, passed away on February 23, 2023 after a bout with pneumonia and heart failure.
Craig Richard Waters was born on February 17th, 1949 to Richard Waters and Anna Lou Waters in Santa Monica, California. Craig attended Saint Elizabeth Elementary School and later graduated from Van Nuys High School with diploma 1967. He loved to travel and meet people. In 1968 he traveled to Hawaii to surf.
In 1969, Craig enlisted in the United States Army for a two-year tour graduating basic training in Fort Ord, California. He was assigned as a combat engineer and Chaplin assistant in Germany and there he was able to tour Europe. Upon Honorable Discharge from the Army in 1971, he enlisted in the United States Navy Seabees Reserves as a E-5 Gunners Mate. Craig would return to school in graduating with an Associates of Arts Degree from Los Angeles Piece College in 1974. He attended Cal State Los Angeles for 1 year. He hired into Los Angeles Police Department as a Clerk Protector for 4 years. He started South Bay Coffee Service in 1979 and several other businesses to include Mid-City coffee service. He served as the Secretary and later President of the Western Coffee Association. In 1990, he served as the western regional representative for National Coffee Service Association in Washington D.C.
Craig later became a truck driver working for four different companies which allowed him to travel across the U.S..
Craig lived in Van Nuys taking care of his mother until her passing in April of 2018. Craig was truly had an adventurous side and loved talking with people. He even attended Bar Tending School and Private Pilot School. He dearly loved the ocean and would sail the coast of California and Mexico.
Craig will be in our hearts and prayers for ever.
