Claude D. Parker, 1937 – 2018, age of 80 passed away Sunday, September 3, 2018. Claude was born in 1937 to James and Ettie Lee Parker in Malvern, Arkansas. Claude moved to Wilmington, California in 1950. Claude met the love of his life, Esther in 1967 at The First Assembly of God church where he sang in the choir.
Claude was a comedic storyteller who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to take his family fishing and to the desert. Claude built dune buggies from scratch for his sons. He loved beekeeping, spending time in the garden and sharing his bounty. He was a proud 50 year member of the LiUNA Local 1309 Laborers Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Ettie Lee; His siblings Jim, Charles, Carl, Lewis, Kenny, and Fern. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Esther; his sister Caroyn (David); his son William (Rhonda); his son Wayne (Kimberlee); his son Steven (April); his five grandchildren Bill Jr., Sharon, Kelly, Theresa (Kevin), Kayla (Casey); his eight great-grandchildren Austin, Kendall, Hayleigh, Logan, Ryan,Nathan, Rider and Eva; his many Niece's and Nephews; and his dog Lady.
Services will take place Tuesday, 12:00 PM at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Ave., Rancho Palos Verdes. A casual gathering at the graveside and will follow at his place of worship, Faith Tabernacle Church, 1643 Broad Ave., Wilmington.
