Clara Fulvia Rodriguez de Muniz
On Sunday March 11, 2018, Clara Fulvia Rodriguez de Muniz passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family.
Clara lived a very full life filled with beauty, family, and adventure.
Clara’s adventure started on August 12, 1923 when she was born in the country of Panama, Province Chiriquí, and Village of Orconsitos.
Clara’s first big move was from Orconsitos to Panama City as a young woman, where she honed her talents and crafts in Fashion. She designed and supplied blouses to a custom designed dressmaking client base and local stores where her tenacity and attention to detail provided her with additional opportunities.
She later immigrated to Puerto Rico with her family, where she continued to develop her skillset in Fashion. Her work ethic and attention to quality led to a supervisory position on the island.
In continued pursuit of her adventurous spirit, Clara relocated to Southern California in 1960. Again, her hard work, tenacity, and inability to accept less pushed her to strive and achieve. After several years in Southern California, she purchased a Sewing Manufacturing plant in Downtown Los Angeles that provided for her, her family, and numerous workers the ability to participate fully in the American Dream.
Such was her drive that, even in retirement, Clara continued to play an active role in fashion and tailoring, working with designers on custom fashion pieces. From her youth, Clara had a green thumb. After her retirement, this love of plants and flowers blossomed and was exemplified in the care and beauty that she surrounded herself with in her garden.
Clara had always been an avid dancer, starting from her earliest days in Panama City and continuing through her retirement. She danced it all, including Polka, Square, Ballroom Dancing, and even the more formal dances from the Victorian era with the same enthusiasm and adventurous spirit that she brought to all of her endeavors.
Clara was a woman that faced life with enthusiasm and optimism. She faced challenges with a determination to succeed. Her many admirable qualities and work ethic led her to tremendous success in all of her endeavors. Her generous spirit and friendship drew people of diverse backgrounds and nationalities to her. She was a good and loyal friend and a great companion and parent. She will be missed by all those whose hearts she touched throughout her life.
Clara remains an inspiration to her family and all who knew her. To say that she will be missed is a tremendous understatement and the absence of her vital and energizing presence will leave a void that will not be easily filled. Though her journey here on Earth has ended, she leaves behind the adventurous spirit that drove her in life that now continues to drive and provide life to her family.
Clara was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by Jorge Adalberto Prado Rodriguez, eldest son and his wife Julie Ann Prado Wu; Solange Muniz Rodriguez, daughter; Nestor Gerardo Muniz, youngest son and his wife Soledad Muniz; grandchildren Fulvia Ana Monge; Jennifer Ann Prado Kain and her husband Greg Kain; George Lee Prado, great-grandchildren Ryan Oscar Kain; Charlotte Ann Prado; and Oriana Muniz.
