Chun Young Kim

November 27, 1924 — May 18, 2015

Chun Young Kim (이춘영) was born on November 27, 1924 in CheungJoo, South Korea , the oldest of Mr. GwanHee Lee (father) and BoBae Lee(mother). She had been married for 67 years since 1948. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1987 and finally settled in Encino, CA before she passed away. Among her three siblings, JaeHang (brother), WooYoung (sister) and JaeSung (brother), she carried on the role of a mother. She had been a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, JinHeung, and her children, Sooki, Inki, Hongki and Mijin, and 5 grandchildren, Jonghyuk Kim, JooHee Kim, Sarine Kim, Giselle Kim and Jonathan Kim.

If you ever visited her garden, you could tell she had a green thumb. Her garden exhibited some of the most visually grabbing plants, ranging from flowers to cacti.

In her more active days, she could be found looking around for decorative trinkets, adding life to the place she called home. Ever since she was younger, she was particularly nifty with her hands. One of her most notable ceramic projects included an ashtray formed in the shape of an animal. And yet, she remained humble of her talents and still brought upon much joy and laughter to the people around her.
