Christian Theodore Kinsey

Christian Theodore Kinsey was born July 17, 1943 in Buffalo, NY to John and Margarie Kinsey. Chris would later be joined by two younger brothers, Garry and David. At three, the Kinsey family moved to Hermosa Beach, California. Chris attended South High in Torrance and graduated in 1960.

Chris loved the sea and sailing. As a teenager he worked at Marineland in Palos Verdes and he eventually became a Captain on one of the boats. His love for ocean life followed him through the years. Chris and Sally went on 27 cruises over their 52 year marriage.

After years of pursuing, Sally Jo Hathaway agreed to marry Chris on September 12, 1970. Nancy was three and a half years old. That day, he committed not just to Sally, but also to Nancy and never treated Nancy as anything other than his own.

Chris worked in route sales for Frito Lay for most of his career. He retired from Frito Lay after 27 years.

After eleven years of chronic medical issues, Chris passed away November 10th at the age of 79. Chris is survived by his wife Sally Kinsey, daughter Nancy Larimer, son in law Stuart, grandson Shane Larimer and many other family members.

Chris’s one goal in life was to keep Sally and Nancy happy. He did just that. He will be remembered for being a loving and adoring husband and Father, proud Grandfather, lover of sailing, a wonderful friend. We will also never forget what a kid at heart he was, making jokes so those around him would laugh and smile.
