Chittaranjan Das, known as Chitta amongst his friends and as beloved Chittada to his younger generation, passed from this earthly life on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the age of 78 with his wife, Jayshree, and daughter, Malini, at his side.
Born on January 11, 1941 in Comilla (currently in Bangladesh), he did his Masters in Geology from the University of Calcutta before completing his CPIM (Certification in Production & Inventory Management) from APICS (The Association for Operations Management). He enjoyed his career in the Aerospace Industry and served in esteemed organizations as Microsemi, TRW, and Boeing.
He also had a passion for literature and acting, and was a constant presence in the Los Angeles Bengali theater scene. He was indeed well known within the local Bengali community for his acting prowess and participated in numerous small independent films, PBS Television series, as well as amateur American theaters.
Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. His true joys were spoiling his granddaughters, engaging in philosophical banter, and living life to its fullest with love and laughter.
He is survived by his wife, Jayshree Das, daughter and son-in-law, Malini & Tirthendra Sanyal, granddaughters Shreya & Esha, close relatives and loving friends.
Loved and admired for his simplicity, a smiling face, and an amazingly loving nature, he will be cherished forever in our hearts and memories.
