Cheryl "Cherii" Lynn Jays

Known as "Cherii" by family and friends, the daughter of James Hampton and Lauretta Godel, passed away on January 11, 2012. She was born on September 14, 1954 in Hawthorne, California and had been a longtime resident of Redondo Beach. She was a free spirited and kind hearted person who was always trying to help others out any way she could. A very giving and loving person who always smiled and laughed. Cheryl is survived by her loving family and companion: Scott Panek, son: Steffan (Kristina) Jays, mother; Lauretta Godel, grandchildren; Mia Lynn Jays and Tyler Lee Jays, siblings; Alyson Corral and John Godel, aunts; Joyce Brown and Pauline "Sis" Shaw, uncle: Paul "Sonny" (Joanne) Blackburn along with nieces and nephews: Megan, Anika, Michael and Justin. Her cousins: Christy, Aaron and Matthew also survive her.
She will be greatly missed.
